TeamDynamix Technician: Create a Service for Requests

 

Overview

This article will go over creating a service in TeamDynamix. This feature allows you to provide a structured way for users to submit requests through the Ithaca College Service Catalog. Services help organize request types and ensure they route to the correct team

Access the Service Catalog

  1. Log in to TeamDynamix with your IC credentials
  2. Navigate to the Service Catalog category.

Create a New Service

  1. Locate the New Service option on the right-hand side and click it.
  2. Enter the following details:
    • Name: Use a clear, descriptive title (e.g., Request Software Installation).
    • Description: Explain what the service provides and any prerequisites.
    • Category: Select the appropriate category for the service.
    • Status: Set to Active when ready for use.

Configure Service Settings

  1. Under General Settings, define:
    • Owning Group: Assign the team responsible for fulfilling requests.
    • Workflow: Attach a workflow if approvals or routing are required.
  2. Add any Custom Attributes needed for request details.

Add Request Form

  1. Click Forms > Add Form.
  2. Select an existing form or create a new one to capture user input.
  3. Ensure required fields are clearly marked.

Publish the Service

  1. Review all settings for accuracy.
  2. Click Save.
  3. Set Visibility to Public or Internal based on audience.
  4. Confirm the service appears in the Service Catalog.
