TeamDynamix Technician: Working with Time Tasks

 

Overview

This article will go over Time tracking in TeamDynamix. This process allows you to record the amount of time spent on tickets, tasks, and projects. Accurate time entries help with resource planning, reporting, and billing where applicable. This guide will explain how to track time in TeamDynamix.

Where You Can Add Time 


You can add time to:

  • Projects
  • Workspaces
  • Tasks
  • Issues
  • Tickets

You can find the Time application in the following places:

  • Time & Expense application in TDNext.
  • My Timecard section of the My Work application in TDNext (requires access to My Work).
  • Work or Actual Hours pages on item detail pages (tickets, tasks, issues).
  • Update pages for tickets, tasks, and issues.

*Requires access to the TDNext and the Time & Expense application

Must be a member of projects or workspaces and/or have work items (tasks, tickets, or issues) assigned to you.

The project or ticket must have at least one active Time Type assigned.

Adding Time to a Ticket


  1. Navigate to https://help.ithaca.edu and login in with IC credentials 
  2. Open the ticket where you want to log time.
  3. Click Actions > Add Time.
  4. Complete the following fields:
    • Time Type: Select the appropriate category (e.g., Support, Project Work).
    • Hours: Enter the number of hours worked.
    • Date: Choose the date the work was performed.
    • Description: Provide a brief summary of the work completed.
  5. Click Save.

Adding Time to a Task or Issue


  1. Navigate to https://help.ithaca.edu and login in with IC credentials 
  2. Navigate to TDNext 
  3. Open the project or workspace containing the task or issue.
  4. Select the item you worked on.
  5. Click Add Time from the item’s detail page.
  6. Fill in the required fields (same as above).
