Access aparkfs01 folders from a Windows machine.

aparkfs01 is a shared network file server for the Roy H. Park School of Communications to allow for file storage and transfers between faculty and students. Access is limited to faculty and students assigned to specific courses. This guide offers instructions for access aparkfs01 directories from a Windows computer.

Requirements

aparkfs01 must be accessed from any of the following networks:

  • The wired campus network
  • The IthacaCollege secure wireless network
  • The Eduroam secure wireless network
  • An Internet-connected computer running GlobalProtect VPN.

aparkfs01 cannot be accessed over the IthacaCollege-Guest wireless network.

Accessing Folders

Your Netpass username and password are used to access shared folders on aparkfs01. The faculty member should provide you with the name of the folder that you will be accessing on aparkfs01. For this example we are going to use Cinema Production 1.

1) Make sure the Windows computer you are using is connected to the Ithaca College network using any of the following:

  • The wired campus network
  • The IthacaCollege secure wireless network
  • The Eduroam secure wireless network
  • An Internet-connected computer running GlobalProtect VPN. (students using MyResNet use the VPN)

2) left click the Windows start button, typically on the bottom left of your screen.

 

3) start typing File Explorer, when you see it select it by clicking on it with the left mouse button.

4) Right click on This PC, and select Map network drive...

5) In the Folder: field, type \\aparkfs01\classes and then click Browse...

6) In File Explorer you can see what classes you can access and navigate to those directories..
