Platform

DTerm Series i Telephone

Placing Calls

  • To place calls within the system, dial the 5-digit extension.
  • To place calls outside the system, dial 9 + telephone number.

Message Button

Press the Message button to access your campus voice mail. 

Hold

  • To place a call on hold so that it can be retrieved from other phones with that line, press Hold once.
  • To place a call on hold so that it can only be retrieved from that phone, press Hold twice.
  • To retrieve the call from hold, lift handset or press SpeakerPress the flashing line key.

Transfer

To transfer a call to another extension:

  1. Press Transfer.
  2. Dial 5-digit extension.
  3. Wait to announce the call or hang up when dialed extension starts ringing

To cancel the transfer and return to the original caller:

  1. Press Transfer.

Call Forward All

To temporarily redirect your incoming calls to another extension:

  1. Lift handset or press Speaker.
  2. Press Fwda soft key.
  3. Dial 5-digit extension to forward calls to (listen for confirmation tone).
  4. Press Speaker or hang up.
  5. FWDA (flashing) is displayed.

To cancel forwarding:

  1. Lift handset or press Speaker.
  2. Press the flashing FWDA soft key (listen for confirmation tone).
  3. Forward Cancel is displayed.​​​​​​​
  4. Press Speaker or hang up

Conference

To establish a conference call (three parties):

  1. Answer or place a call.
  2. Press Transfer.
  3. Dial the party to be added (announce conference)
  4. Press Conf.

If added party is busy or does not answer, press Transfer. You are now on with the original caller only

Speaker Phone

To answer or make a call without lifting handset:

  1. Press Speaker. You will hear a dial tone or the person calling.
  2. The Mic must be on (lit red) to respond without lifting the handset.

To mute a call while using the speaker press the Mic button to turn off the microphone. You can now hear the caller but the caller cannot hear you. The red light of Mic button will be off.

Call Pick Up

To answer any ringing phone in your Call Pick Up group: 

  1. Lift handset or press Speaker.
  2. Press Pick soft key.
  3. You are connected to the incoming call (the first incoming call if more than one line is ringing).

To answer a specific ringing phone (if more than one is ringing):

  1. Lift handset or press Speaker.
  2. Press #.
  3. Press 3.
  4. Dial the specific 5-digit ringing extension.

Last Number Redial

  1. Lift handset or press Speaker.
  2. Press #.
  3. Press 7.

Recent Redial

  1. Lift handset or press Speaker.
  2. Press Redial until the number you want is displayed. Up to five recent numbers are stored.
  3. Press *.

Soft Keys

Help

  1. Press the Help key repeatedly to display available features.
  2. Press the soft key below the feature to get a detailed description of its function.
  3. Press the soft key bellow the <<< and >>> symbols to move forward and backward through the help information.
  4. Press the Exit key to exit the help program.

Save and Repeat

Save and repeat (S&R) saves a dialed number for later use.

Save

  1. Lift handset.
  2. Dial desired telephone number.
  3. Press the S&R soft key.
  4. Continue with the call as normal.

Repeat Saved Number

  1. Lift handset.
  2. Press the flashing S&R soft key to redial the saved number.
  3. Number is deleted after one use and S&R is no longer displayed.

RMute

RMute is used to turn the telephone ringer on and off.

  • Press the RMUTE soft key to turn the ringer off.
  • Press flashing RMUTE soft key to turn ringer on.

Forward All Calls

Forward All Calls (FWDA) is used to temporarily redirect your incoming calls to another extension.

To set:

  1. Lift handset or press Speaker.
  2. Press the FWDA soft key.
  3. Dial 5-digit extension to forward calls to.

To cancel: 

  1. Lift handset or press Speaker.
  2. Press the flashing FWDA soft key.
  3. Forward Cancel is displayed.
  4. Press SPEAKER or hang up.

Pick

To answer a ringing extension in your pick up group:

  1. Lift handset.
  2. Press Pick soft key.

Mute

To turn off/on the microphone in the telephone's handset or speaker:

  • While on a call, press the MUTE soft key to toggle the microphone off and on.
  • Flashing MUTE is displayed when Mute is active.

To Voice Mail

To send a calling party directly to voice mail or to go directly to a user's voice mail when calling them (to skip their greeting):

  • While your phone is ringing, press the TO_VM soft key to send the caller directly to your voice mail.
  • While calling another user press the TO_VM soft key to go directly to the user's voice mail.

Speed Dial Buttons

To program:

  1. Press Feature.
  2. Press button to be programmed.
  3. Dial telephone number (include the "9" for outside calls).
  4. Press Feature.
  5. Speed Set is displayed.

To use:

  1. Lift handset or press Speaker.
  2. Press programmed Speed Dial key.

Other Features

Ringtone

  1. Press Feature + 3.
  2. Press 3 repeatedly to hear tones from the 10 available choices.
  3. Press Feature during desired tone to select it.

Volume

  • Use up/down arrows to adjust ringer volume while the phone is ringing.
  • Use up/down arrows to adjust handset volume while on a call.
  • Use up/down arrows to adjust speaker volume while the speaker is activated.

Display Contrast

Use up/down arrows while phone is not in use to change display contrast.
