Ithaca College’s dental plans offer comprehensive coverage for most conditions requiring diagnosis and treatment. You have two plans to choose from. The Legacy Prime Dental Plan offers a higher benefit maximum and does not include orthodontia services. The Ortho Advantage Dental Plan has a maximum annual benefit of $1,500 for general services and has a separate $1,500 lifetime benefit for orthodontia. It is important to note that only children up to age 19 are eligible for the orthodontia benefit.
Your out-of-pocket expenses will be lower if you choose to be treated by a provider in the Delta Dental network. Find in-network providers at deltadentalins.com. You may use any Delta network with our plans.
If you seek care from an out-of-network dentist and your provider does not submit the bill directly to Delta Dental for you, you will need to complete a claim form, attach the bill, and send it to Delta Dental so that you can be reimbursed directly.
Late Entrant Rule
Anyone who does not enroll when first eligible may be considered a “late entrant.” For the first 12 months of coverage, late entrant benefits are limited to two preventive care cleanings and exams (excluding X-rays) as well as one fluoride application for children under the age of 19. The late entrant rule does not apply if you have a qualified life status change during the year.
