Audience
Staff and faculty accessing, uploading, editing, or processing student documents.
Nolij Transition - as of 1/2/2024 all student documents should be accessed and uploaded using Slate. No new documents should be added to Nolij. Nolij wil remain accessible through January 2024.
Accessing Slate
- Go to https://student.ithaca.edu/manage/ or, find “Slate – Current Student CRM” on the apps.ithaca. edu page
- Log in with your IC credentials
Searching for a Student
- Type a student's name or ID number into the search box on the upper right
- Click the student's name from the drop down menu that appears OR press the down arrow until the correct student's name is highlighted, then press Enter. (Tip: if you press Enter without pressing the down arrow first, it may bring you to a "Forbidden" page that you do not have access to)
Who is in Slate?
Viewing and Managing Documents in Material View
On a student page, you will see 3 main tabs.
- Dashboard
- Timeline
- Materials - this is the tab you will use for documents
Viewing Materials/Documents
- Click on the Materials tab on a student's page to view their list of documents.
- Click on the row containing a file in order to view details and open the document.
Adding Materials/Uploading Documents
You must have specific permissions to upload documents. If you believe you should have this capability but do not see the link to add documents on the Materials page, please submit a ticket to IT using the instructions at the end of this article.
- Click the link called New Material at the top of the list on the Materials tab
- Complete required fields
- Record- "folio", leave as is
- Material type - required! if you do not see the material type you need, please contact the Registrar's office at registrar@ithaca.edu
- Memo - optional notes about the document
- (Note: your username, date/time of upload will be recorded by default)
- Click the Choose File button to select a saved file on your device, OR drag and drop a file on top of the Choose File button.
- Click Upload at the bottom of the page. This will add the document to the Materials list.
Material Types
To request a new Material Type be added, please email registrar@ithaca.edu

- Description - brief description of issue or question
- Type of Problem - choose "Administrative and Business Applications"
- Click Submit
