What do I do if I get a black screen when I play a Voicethread?
Likely this has to do with an issue regarding your browser. Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome are the supported browsers for Voicethread, so start by using one of those. If you are in Chrome or Firefox and you are still getting a black screen when trying to play a Voicethread. Make sure your browser is up to date.

Too many email notifications
When logged into ithaca.voicethread.com, in the upper right-hand corner, click on the arrow to the right of your email address. From the drop-down menu, click on "my account." At the top of the screen, click on the "notifications" tab. Here, you can choose what will trigger Voicethread to send you email notifications. Whatever changes you make will only be applied to your account.
My students can't see or comment on the Voicethread.
-Hover your mouse over the Voice thread you want students to work on. Click on the "share" button with the arrow on it.
- Click on the "who has access" tab
- You should see the name of the group you created underneath your name with "can comment" to the right of it. (I have a screenshot for this)
- If not, click on the "secure" tab. Then, select the group you would like to share the Voicethread with. Click on "can View" and "can Comment" to allow members of that group those permissions I have a screenshot)
- If your students still cannot see or comment on a Voicethread, have them click on the "Voicethread" tool in Canvas, which will automatically add them to the group for the course
