Helpful Tips for Successful Recovery

Keep these tips in mind when retrieving your BitLocker recovery key:

  • Format: The recovery key is 48 digits long, divided into 8 groups of 6 digits separated by hyphens (e.g., 123456-234567-345678-456789-567890-678901-789012-890123).
  • Numbers Only: Recovery keys contain only numbers, making them easier to enter accurately.
  • Alternative Devices: If you cannot access your phone, you can use another computer or tablet to log into https://myaccount.microsoft.com using the same steps.
