Non essential quality of life setting:

  1. Enable waking up the laptop using a USB device (Mouse or keyboard)
    1. In BIOS, under power settings, turn on USB wake.

Essential settings

  1. Enable the setting that allows the computer to stay on with the lid closed when connected to a dock.
    1. Open the Windows 10 Settings app.
    • Click on the System (Display, notifications, power) icon.
    • From the left-hand menu, select Power & Sleep.
    • On the right, or at the bottom, under Related Settings, click on Additional power settings.
    • On the left side of Additional power settings, click on Choose what closing the lid does.
    • Set the menu for When Plugged In and When I Close the Lid to Do Nothing.
