Browse Classes in HomerConnect using Advance Search

Audience

This article is intended for Students.

 

Step 1:

Open a web browser of your choice such as Google Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, or any other site you would like to use.


Step 2:

Type in ‘apps.ithaca.edu’ into the search bar and press ‘Enter’ on your keyboard.

Step 3:

Select ‘HomerConnect’ and once the page loads, select ‘Student Log In’ underneath the ‘For Students’ heading.

Log into HomerConnect with your Netpass username and password.

If needed, authenticate with a Duo push, call, or message.

Step 4:

Select ‘Registration and Planning,’ then ‘Browse Classes,’ and then make sure to select the correct term for which you are registering for from the drop down menu.

You can view the term that you are registering for on your HomerConnect home page.

Step 5:

Click on ‘Advanced Search’ and the extensive search criteria and features of the advanced search option will be shown.
- Attribute: ensures the class you are looking for completes a specific graduation requirement
- Title: you can enter the title of a specific course OR a word or phrase from the title with a percent sign after it (%) to gather a list of classes that all have that word or phrase in their title
- Open Sections Only: shows you classes that have open seats/seats remaining
- Meeting Days/Times: allows you to select specific days of the week and certain times that you want a class to meet, and results will show you only classes that meet that criteria.
