NEW Financial Transaction Detail Report
The Financial Transaction Detail Report can be used to look up transaction information for any account type, including those not available in Budgetary Control (e.g. Income/Revenue, Assets). The report shows Budget, Commitment/Obligation, and Expenditure transactions for these account types, with detailed transaction information including descriptions, supplier names, dollar amounts, and requisition or expense report numbers, among others. Due to the large amount of data, exporting report results to Excel is highly recommended.
To run the Financial Transaction Detail Report:
1. Navigate to the Campus Financial Reports folder in Reports and Analytics (see above for instructions).
2. Find the Financial Transaction Detail Report in the list and click Open.
3. Click the calendar icons next to the date_from and date_to fields to select a date range.
4. Type values into the remaining fields to choose a range of segment values for the accounts to include in the report.
5. Click Apply. Transaction information will appear in the space on the right side of the screen. Please note: Depending on the search criteria you enter, it may take 30 to 60 seconds or longer for search results to appear due to a large amount of data in the report.
6. (Optional) It is highly recommended that you export the report to Excel, as the data will be easier to view, sort, and filter. To export, click the (Gear) icon in the top right corner of the screen, mouse over Export, and click Excel.
Example - Filtering Results
After exporting your report to Excel, placing a filter on the top row of the spreadsheet will allow you to sort and filter the data. A common use for this function is to show only Expenditures (also referred to as Actuals), filtering out any Commitments, Obligations, or Budget transactions. After placing a filter on the top row, you can do this by clicking the dropdown arrow at the top of the rightmost column (Expenditures) scrolling to the bottom of the list, unchecking "Blanks", and clicking OK.
