Configure ProTools Remote License

These instructions require you to use your Ithaca College credentials to access both the download links and the license server to install and run ProTools.

To install ProTools:

1. There is an initial step for PCs ONLY (MAC USERS IGNORE THIS STEP):
   • Go to www.asio4all.org.
   • Scroll down and click ASIO4ALL 2.14 – English to begin the download.
   • Open your downloads folder, double click the ASIO4ALL.exe installer, and follow the on-screen instructions.
   • Be sure to check Off-Line Settings when you get to the Choose Components portion of the installation process. This will allow you to configure ASIO4ALL when you’re not using your DAW.
2. Download the version of ProTools for your platform, Mac or PC, and the License.server.config.prefs file from HERE
3. Install ProTools
4. Launch the iLok License Manager (Do not sign in)
5. Go to Preferences and select My Connections
6. Click on the plus sign and select “Add Server with Config File” then select the License.server.config.prefs file downloaded.
   1. Ignore the error message that the server is offline.
7. Check Automatically connect to license server found on the network (LAN)
8. Click OK.

To run ProTools and pull a license you will need to connect to IC’s VPN. 

To be able to connect to the VPN, you will need to: 

• Setup DUO: https://www.ithaca.edu/it/services/duo/
• Setup GlobalProtect: https://help.ithaca.edu/TDClient/34/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=52

You will need to connect to the VPN and stay connected every time to run ProTools otherwise licensing will fail.
