Powering on the Extron:
- The Extron panel screen lights up when you walk up to it.
- Touch anywhere on the screen to start it up. (Tap firmly! The panels may not be responsive to gentle taps.)
The Interface:
- Video input options
- Image mute button
- Help button
- Power Off button
- Projector button
- Camera controls
- Audio controls
Choosing your video input:
There are options to project from the resident PC, your laptop, or the document camera.
- Tap your chosen input from 1.
- Hit the projector button 5 to power the projector and project your chosen input
Note: The Image Mute 2 button and Projector button 5 both control the projector’s display..
- If nothing shows up on the projector after taking steps 1 and 2, hit the Image Mute 2 button. It doesn’t give any feedback, and so there is always the possibility that it was toggled on by a previous user.
Using Personal Devices:
The Extron panels come with an array of options for connecting personal devices.
Select the Laptop option for your video input, no matter what kind of personal device is being connected.
The HDMI (A) can be used with most PCs and Macs.
Alternatively, there are adapters for USB-C (B) and Lightning connectors (C) (which work on android devices and iPhones/iPads respectively).
Camera Controls:
Tap the Camera button 6 at the bottom of the interface to power on your camera and access the camera controls on the Extron panel.
- The buttons in 8 control the position/direction of the camera.
- 9 is used to zoom in and out.
- 10 holds four different preset camera angles/positions - a potentially easier alternative to manually adjusting the camera's current position.
Audio Controls:
The options for controlling the microphone and speakers on the Extron are on the bottom-right of the interface.
Mic Volume controls the volume of sound received by your microphone during recordings and web conferencing. Turning it down would make your own voice less audible to any listeners to your recording or web conference.
Projector Volume controls the volume of sound played from your chosen video input device through the speakers in the room. Turning it down would make sounds from your device less audible to any listeners in the room.
To mute/unmute your microphone or speakers, tap either of the speaker symbols.
