Zoom AI Companion is a collection of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies integrated into Zoom's video communications platform. These AI-driven features are designed to enhance meeting experiences, boost productivity, and deliver valuable insights.
Zoom AI Companion features are available for all students, faculty, and staff as of August 19, 2024.

Zoom AI Companion has the following key features:
- In-Meeting Questions: The AI Companion assists with real-time chat during meetings, answering common questions, summarizing discussions, and identifying action items to help you stay organized. For more information, refer to Asking in-meeting questions with the AI Companion (zoom.com).
- Meeting Summary: At the end of the meeting, the AI Companion generates a comprehensive summary, highlighting key discussion points and decisions in chapters. The host can then edit and share this summary with all participants. For more information, refer to Using Meeting Summary with AI Companion (zoom.com).
- Meeting Coach: This AI-powered feature provides post-meeting feedback on various conversation aspects, including talk speed and the use of filler words. For more information, refer to Using Smart Recording with AI Companion (zoom.com).
- Smart Chapters: Automatically segments recorded meetings into distinct sections, making it easier to navigate to important points and highlighting key takeaways. For more information, refer to Using Smart Recording with AI Companion (zoom.com).

Enabling Zoom AI Companion
- Go to ithaca.zoom.us and sign in with your Ithaca College account.
- From the left menu bar, select Settings.
- In the top menu, select the AI Companion option.
- You can toggle the features you want to include, such as Automatically start meeting summary and Automatically start meeting questions.
- Each option can be toggled on or off independently.
- Changing settings in your Zoom account applies the changes to all future meetings.
How to Check if Meeting is AI Enabled
Once enabled, the AI Companion symbol will appear in meetings where the Companion is active.
If you are hosting the meeting or have permission to use AI tools, the symbol will likely be visible in the bottom toolbar.
The symbol will also appear in the top status bar in any meeting where AI is enabled, even if you don't have access to the AI tools yourself.
Privacy

Zoom does not use any of your audio, video, chat, screen sharing, attachments, or other communication-related content (such as poll results, whiteboard activity, and reactions) to train its own or third-party artificial intelligence models.
