What is iClicker?
iClicker is a student response system (SRS) that allows you to take part in polling, surveying, and other activities in your course in real time.
You can use iClicker on a laptop, padlet, or phone by going to student.iclicker.com, or by using the iClicker student app.
A student account must be created with your @ithaca.edu email in order to use the campus license to iClicker.
How to Sign up on student.iclicker.com
- Through a web browser, go to https://student.iclicker.com
- Click Sign Up! next to Don't Have an Account? (Do not click Sign in through your campus portal).
- In the "Find Your Institution" dropdown menu, type and select "Ithaca College" (not Ithaca College Pilot).
- Fill out the form and
- You must use your @ithaca.edu email
- Enter your Ithaca College Student ID number
- Create a password that is NOT identical to your Ithaca College password
- Agree to Privacy Notice and Terms of Use.
- Click Create Account
- Go to your ithaca.edu email to verify your email. (you may have to look in clutter or other).
- Go back to login page, enter your Student email and Password and click the "SIGN IN" button.
If you are asked "Are You Using an iClicker Remote?" you can click Skip this Step.
You should see the Courses window where you can view any courses you are invited to.
Alternatively, you can follow these steps to sign up on the iClicker Student App.
1. Visit this link to download the iClicker Student app. Select your device's OS and download the app.
2. Enter with your iClicker Student account credentials and click Sign In.
3. If you are asked "Are You Using an iClicker Remote?" you can click Skip this Step.
4. You should see any courses you have been added to if your faculty member has synced your course roster. Otherwise, your instructor can send you a join code to enter the course. To use a join code, follow the instructions below.
If your instructor has not automatically added you, you may need to add the course to your iClicker account.
Follow these steps to join a course:
1. Log in to your iClicker account at student.iclicker.com
2. Click on "Add a Course" on the dashboard.
3. Enter the or code provided by your instructor and click on "Search."
4. Select the course from the search results and click on "Add Course."
To participate in polls and quizzes using iClicker, you need to join the session that your instructor starts in class. Follow these steps to join a session and answer questions:
1. Log in to your iClicker account at student.iclicker.com or open the ‘iClicker Student’ app on your device.
2. Click on the course that you want to join on the dashboard.
3. Click on "Join Session" or enter the session code provided by your instructor.
4. You will see the question that your instructor asks on your device screen. If your instructor is projecting, you will also see the question on the projector screen in class.
5. Select your answer from the options given and click on "Submit". You will see a confirmation message that your answer has been received.
6. If your instructor allows you to change your answer, you can do so before the polling time ends. You can also withdraw your answer by clicking on "Withdraw".
7. If your instructor gives you feedback, you will see the correct answer and an explanation on your device screen. You can also see the class results and your points earned.
8. For quizzes, you may have to answer multiple questions in a row. You can navigate between the questions by clicking on the arrows at the bottom of the screen. You can also flag the questions that you want to review later by clicking on the flag icon.
8a. When you finish the quiz, click on "Submit Quiz". You will see your score and feedback on your device screen.
9. You can leave the session at any time by clicking on the "X" icon at the top right corner of the screen. You can also rejoin the session later if you need to.
To view your grades and feedback for the polls and quizzes that you have taken using iClicker, you need to access your course performance report. Follow these steps to view your grades and feedback:
1. Log in to your iClicker account at student.iclicker.com or open the iClicker Student app on your device.
2. Click on the course that you want to view on the dashboard.
3. You will see a summary of your points earned, attendance, and participation for the course.
4. You can also view the details of each session you joined by clicking the session name in the "Class History" section.
5. You will see the questions, your answers, the correct answers, the class results, and the feedback for each question.
6. In the "Study Tools" session you will be able to create a flashcard deck based on questions you were asked in class.
