Alumni Email

Starting in 2025, the Ithaca College alumni email offering is changing to opt-in. Faculty, staff, current students, retirees, and affiliates are unaffected and do not need to opt in. Alumni email accounts will automatically remain active for at least 12 months following attendance. Alumni who last attended at least one year ago will need to confirm yearly that they want to continue using it their account. If you no longer want your account, there’s nothing you need to do.

Starting in April 2025, alumni who last attended in Spring 2024 or earlier who have IC email will receive email messages from noreply@ithaca.edu with an individual link to an ithaca.edu site with buttons to opt in or decline. We will not send texts, ask for any information, require a login, or involve Duo. Any messages that differ from this are phishing attacks. So, ignore messages saying your account will be deleted if they come from other addresses, ask for information, have links to other sites or forms, ask you to log in, or involve Duo.

Opt-In Process

Opt-in reminder emails will be sent to both your IC email address and an alternate email address if we have one listed for you. The messages will contain a personalized link to an opt-in page. Because the links are personalized, the form will not ask you to log in or provide any information. There is no other easy way to opt in, so please wait for the opt-in emails. In case you miss the one in April, follow-up messages will be sent in May and June to alumni who have not yet opted in or declined.

If you don't opt-in prior to July 1st and want to restore your access after that, you will be able to until February of the following year. The opt-in links you received will still work during that time. Opting in after-the-fact will re-enable your account. Expect it to take 24 hours for the account to be enabled.

Beware of Phishing Messages

It’s common for scammers to send emails and texts warning that accounts will be deleted to try to scare people into providing information, logging into a fake site, or entering a code in their Duo app.

Legitimate reminders will only come from noreply@ithaca.edu and link to an ithaca.edu web page. That web page will not require a log in, involve Duo, have weird pop-ups, or ask you to install anything. It will just have an explanation and buttons to Opt In or Opt Out.

We will not text you, and our opt-in process will not ask you for any information, require you to log in, involve Duo, or link anywhere but an ithaca.edu web page. Any warning messages that differ are phishing attacks.
