Policies for Common Systems

Access to most Ithaca College accounts ends upon an IC community member's official date of separation from the college (i.e. graduation, retirement, resignation, etc.), with the exception of the accounts and services listed below. The college reserves the right to disable access to any account at any time.

Email for Students

Effective May 2013, students retain access to their personal IC email account. Graduating student's should also refer to this help.ithaca.edu article for further information about Microsoft services and this help.ithaca.edu article about Adobe services.

Email for Faculty and Staff

Access to institutional accounts is revoked within 24 hours after an employee's last day of employment, except for employees covered by collective bargaining agreements, in which case the terms of their respective contracts will be followed. For departing faculty and staff who are also alumni of the institution, their email access will be retained.

While access to the account is terminated within 24 hours, the account itself is not immediately deleted. It remains active for approximately 4 months, during which time it will continue to receive incoming emails. This grace period allows the departing employee, if desired, to set an "away" message informing senders about alternative contacts for college-related matters or providing their new email address.

Email for Retirees

Retirees retain access to their personal IC email account.

Faculty Profiles

Faculty retirees retain access to their Faculty Profile (ithaca.edu/faculty-and-staff-directory) and are able to update or edit the profile as needed.

Zoom

The IC Zoom account will transition to a retiree account which includes a Basic Zoom License. A basic license allows you to log in with your IC email address and host a meeting with up to 100 attendees, and up to 40 minutes per meeting. If you wish to purchase a licensed account or sign up for a free basic Zoom account with a non-IC email address, visit zoom.us/pricing.
