- Open the Start Menu.
- Open the Settings menu.
- Click Update and Security.
- Click Windows Defender.
- Click Scan Offline.
- Wait for the computer to reboot.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to remove malware if any is found.

- Open the start menu.
- Start typing Windows Defender into the search textbox.
- When Windows Defender Security Center appears under Programs, click the application to open it.
- Click the Virus & threat protection icon, the leftmost option.
- Click Advanced Scan.
- Choose Windows Defender Offline Scan.
- Click Scan Now.
- Click Scan.
- Click yes in the User Account Control pop-up.
- Wait for your computer to restart.
- Enter the recovery key if your drive is encrypted with Bitlocker and click Continue.
- Wait for the scan to complete.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to remove malware if any is found.
