This article is an introduction on how to use Crestron Controllers, an interface used in classrooms with a number of available functions.

There are two types of Crestron Controllers: a panel with hard buttons on both sides, and a panel with smooth buttons. This panel acts as a master power switch for everything except the computer, which you will have to turn on separately if need be. If all the buttons on a panel are red of if the panel doesn't respond to touch, call AV Services at 607-274-1443.
Start Up
- Hard Button: press the green "on" button, wait for the projector to warm up, select an input
- Smooth Buttons: tap the screen, wait for the projector to warm up, select an input
Available Functions*
- iPod/Aux cables are located on the top of the lectern and will play audio through a mobile device with a headphone jack.
- Blu-ray and DVD player press the “Power” button” on the player. Inserting the Blu-ray disc or DVD into the player should bring up the DVD to play.
- Laptop cables are located on top of or on the side of the lectern. Connect the cable to the device to display content from the laptop.
- Document Cameras are connected through the Creston panel and can be selected as an input on the keypad to project onto the screen. Make sure they are on and focused. Controls for the Document Cameras are on the cameras themselves.
- Note: IPEVO cameras need to be opened on the room computer in a camera app (e.g. QuickTime). Select that input for the projector to display the document camera image.
- Cameras are connected to the computer and can be easily accessed through programs like QuickTime, Zoom, and media.ithaca.edu. Camera movement can be controlled through the Crestron panel.
- Picture/Video Mute stops the projector from displaying the input, but still allows audio to pass through. The icon will flash when this option is selected.
- Audio Mute silences the sound from the selected input, but video will still pass through the projector.
- Mic Volume increases/decreases the amplification of the gooseneck microphone in the lectern.
Use the Crestron keypad to control which device is sending its signal to the projector and speakers by pushing the appropriate input button. It is also easiest to control the volume with this keypad.
