How to Upload Media to Media.ithaca.edu (Kaltura)
Step 1. Log into Media.ithaca.edu by clicking Login in the top right corner, then My Media
Step 2. Click Add New at the top of the page, then click Media Upload
Step 3. Drag your files to the upload area, or click Choose a file to upload
Step 4. Once you have chosen your file, click open in the bottom of the new window.
Step 5. Give your media a title, adjust the permissions as you would like, then click save at the bottom of the page.
How to Upload YouTube videos to Media.ithaca.edu (Kaltura)
Step 1. Log into Media.ithaca.edu by clicking Login in the top right corner, then click My Media
Step 2. Click Add New at the top of the page, then click YouTube
Step 3. Paste the link to the Youtube video you want to upload into the designated space and click Preview
Step 4. Give your media a title, adjust the permissions as you would like, then click save at the bottom of the page.
How to Upload Media to Canvas Media Gallery
Step 1. Log into Canvas, navigate to one of your courses, and click Kaltura Media Gallery on the left hand side. You will see all media currently added to this courses Media Gallery.
Step 2. Click Add Media, then check the boxes for any videos you would like to add to your course Media Gallery, then click Publish.
*If Kaltura Media Gallery is not enabled in your course, click Settings on the left, then navigation. Drag Kaltura Media Gallery into the top section of tools, then click save at the bottom. See this video for a walk through
Important Information
You can only upload public videos from YouTube to Kaltura.
