Access Time and Absence Functions
To access the Time and Absence app and perform the employee functions outlined in this article:
- Login to Finance and HR Cloud from apps.ithaca.edu
- Click on the Home icon (top right)
- On the IC HR Cloud homepage, click on the Me tab
- Under Apps, click on Time and Absences
To add IC UGSOA Wellness Day to absence record:
- From the Time and Absences app, Click on the Add Absence tile
- Select IC UGSOA Wellness Day absence type from the dropdown list
- Select the desired Start Date and End Date for the Absence
- Absence Duration will auto-populate; change duration where needed
- If you are a 40 hour per week employee you will need to change your absence entry to 8.0 hours; click on the Edit icon in the top right of the box, and then the edit pencil icon. From here, you can change the hours duration to 8.0.


- Click Submit (top-right)
Create a Time Card with IC UGSOA Wellness Day
With the IC UGSOA Wellness Day absence plan, UGSOA employees are not required to log Wellness Hours Worked or Supplemental Time Earned on the college’s summer Restorative Fridays. Instead, UGSOA employees scheduled to work on a Restorative Friday should enter their regular scheduled time type, such as "UGSOA Day" or "UGSOA Evening. This absence plan has been front-loaded with 80 hours, equivalent to 10 Restorative Fridays, which may be used at the rate one day per week at 8.0 hours. The IC UGSOA Wellness Day absence hours will expire three months after the final college Restorative Friday.
- click on the Add Time Card tile
- Select a date within time period you wish to create a time card and then click Add
- If you entered the IC UGSOA Wellness Day in your absence record, it will come through automatically to you time card.
- In the Job - Department column, double-click the cell and select the job for which you are entering time
- In the Time Type column, double-click the cell and select the time type you are adding hours for
- To add additional time types, you will simply repeat steps 3 & 4 for as many rows as needed
- Enter the amount of hours worked in the date cell on the same row as the corresponding time type
- Click Submit (top right); your Time Card will be submitted to your supervisor for approval
- If you are not quite ready to submit, you can click Save and Close
- If your supervisor rejects your Time Card, you will receive a notification that your Time Card has been rejected
- To revise a time card and resubmit, click on the Current Time Card tile in the Time and Absences app
- Edit time card as needed and click submit in the top right corner when ready to re-submit for approval
