Ithaca College provides access to several online learning and training platforms to support professional development, academic learning, technology skills, and compliance training. These resources are available to faculty, staff, and students, and are designed to support learning at your own pace.

LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning is an online learning platform that offers a large library of on‑demand video courses covering business, technology, creative, and professional skills. Courses are taught by industry experts and can be used for just‑in‑time learning or more structured skill development.

  • Certificates of completion 
  • Content aligned with professional and academic skill development 
  • Ability for IC faculty or staff to assign or recommend content 

Access to LinkedIn Learning is provided at no cost to current Ithaca College students, faculty, and staff.

Microsoft Learn

Microsoft Learn is Microsoft’s free, self‑paced learning platform offering training on Microsoft products, digital skills, and emerging technologies. Content ranges from introductory topics to advanced technical learning paths.

Key Benefits:

  • Short, interactive learning modules 
  • Role‑based and product‑based learning paths 
  • Hands‑on learning experiences 
  • Content related to Microsoft 365, Azure, Power Platform, and more 

This platform is especially useful for building or strengthening technology and productivity skills.

Microsoft Viva Learning (in Microsoft Teams)

Microsoft Viva Learning is a centralized learning hub within Microsoft Teams that brings together training content from multiple learning platforms in one place including LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft Learn and Microsoft 365 Trainings. Viva Learning allows members of the Ithaca College community to discover, and engage with learning content without leaving Teams.

Key Benefits:

  • Learning embedded directly in the Microsoft Teams experience 
  • Personalized learning recommendations 
  • Ability to share and recommend learning content in Teams chats and channels 
  • Easy access to learning alongside everyday collaboration and communication

Getting Started:

  1. Open Microsoft Teams 
  2. Select Apps in the left navigation and search for Viva Learning 
  3. Click Add or Open the App 
  4. Right- click on the App in the left navigation and Pin for quick access

United Educators (UE) Training

United Educators (UE) provides online training focused on risk management, compliance, and safety topics relevant to higher education. Some UE courses are required for specific roles or responsibilities at Ithaca College, such as working with minors or driving a college vehicle.

Training Topics Include: 

  • Driver safety course 
  • Protection of minors 
  • Other risk and compliance‑related subjects 

Access to UE training is provided through Ithaca College’s insurance carrier agreement.
