Part I: Competencies
To begin the Supervisor Evaluation, go to the Evaluation Topics. Select Section 1 Competency. Select evaluate, and the competencies and short descriptions section, listed below, will display.
Share your assessment of their job performance over the last year for each competency. Provide examples that support your evaluation. You will be able to see the employee’s self-evaluation comments as you complete each competency. Clicking Show Additional Info will display any participant feedback from direct reports and peers. When completed, click Save and Close in the top right corner.
The following competencies are evaluated through the Annual Performance Review.
- Professionalism: Conducts oneself responsibly and with integrity and accountability. Consistently upholds organizational policies, practices, and standards. Demonstrates respect for all members of the Ithaca College community.
- Quality of Work: Demonstrates effective work habits. Completes assigned work accurately, effectively, and efficiently. Work performed is consistent, thorough, and completed in a timely manner.
- Open and Adaptable: Actively seeks and welcomes feedback. Embraces change and new ideas. Adapts plans and actions cooperatively and supportively.
- Equity, Inclusion and Belonging: Fosters an inclusive workplace where individual differences are valued and leveraged to achieve the College’s strategic goal of becoming a national model for colleges committed to the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Demonstrates their commitment to fostering inclusivity among all students, faculty, and staff who are currently underrepresented in higher education. Implements inclusive practices proven to increase retention, sense of belonging, and advancement of those who face systemic disadvantages and discrimination. Adopts inclusive and transparent decision-making processes and holds oneself accountable for such.
- Communication: Facilitates open and inclusive communication. Promotes clear and effective exchange of information, ideas, facts, and perspectives. Demonstrates effective listening skills, accepts welcomes, and responds to feedback, and constructively provides feedback. Takes appropriate action to address and resolve conflict.
- Teamwork: Cultivates and maintains effective relationships and partnerships that leverage expertise and strengthen team performance to accomplish organizational goals, while appreciating diverse viewpoints and shared responsibilities.
- Leadership: Recognizes and capitalizes on personal and team strengths to achieve organizational goals. Establishes and articulates clear goals, identifies what is needed to realize those goals, and balances conflicting priorities for themselves and/or for others. Inspires others in achieving their goals. Promotes a work environment of mutual trust and respect, showing sensitivity and empathy to others. Recognizes contributions of others. Accepts responsibility for mistakes. Manages emotions in difficult situations. Delegates assignments appropriately.
- Professional Development: Aware of one’s strengths and areas for growth and development and proactively seeks and participates in ongoing personal and professional learning and by building networks and relationships in- and outside of the organization.
- Technology/Tools: Understands and responsibly leverages technologies and tools required for their role to enhance efficiencies, complete tasks, and accomplish goals.
Part II: Achievements and Growth
The Achievements and Growth section allows you to provide written feedback about your employee's accomplishments and their areas for growth development, and improvement. Select the evaluate button to expand the section for free-form text boxes where you can enter in:
- Significant Accomplishments/Results: Describe achieved goals, accomplishments, and results aligned with employee’s unit and the college’s strategic direction.
- Areas for Growth, Development, Improvement: Identify areas for professional and personal growth and development as well as any areas for improvement.
You will be able to see the employee’s entries as you complete each area.
Once completed, click Save and Close in the top right corner. You must respond to each section.
You may also add any attachments, such as check-in documents or any other supporting documents. (Attachments > Edit >Attach Document > Save)
Part III: Overall Summary
Complete the Overall Summary section. Select edit within this section, add any additional comments or information you would like included in the overall performance evaluation. When complete, select Save.
Once you've reviewed your evaluation, select submit in the top right-hand corner to prepare the document to be released to the employee.
