Purchasing New College-Owned Computers

Summary

Instructions on how to purchase Dell and Apple computers through IC Marketplace. You can also find the hardware specifications of the Technology Renewal Program and recommended peripherals, such as docking stations and adapters, in this article.

Body

There are three Technology Renewal cycles - Summer, Spring, and Fall. Each cycle the "standard" computers that are ordered for the campus community is reviewed and verified by IT&A to ensure that it meets the campus community's needs. We understand that some departments may need non-standard machines - those are purchased differently than what we offer the majority of the campus community and they are not leased. 

All new equipment that is purchased through the procurement office or IT&A and is approved by a Dean, Director or Vice President before its purchased. 

Reminder: Other components and peripherals such as speakers, monitors, docking stations, etc, are not replaced under the renewal program.

In addition to an Ithaca college laptop, new employees are provided a multi-port adapter to facilitate desktop like use. The exact model of the docking station may vary, but the standard purchased by the college is the following:
