Overview
Ithaca College provides multiple printing options to meet the diverse needs of our campus community. Whether you're printing from a personal device, campus computer, or mobile device, this guide will help you understand your printing options and how to use them effectively.
For other document services using the Toshiba MFPs, see our:
Printing from Personal Computers
To print from your personal device, you have two options depending on your needs and device:
Mobility Print (Papercut)
For the best printing experience from personal devices, we recommend using Mobility Print. These solutions allow you to:
- Print directly to ToshibaBW (black & white) or ToshibaColor (color) printers
- Access full print settings, including single-sided printing and custom options
- Release your print jobs securely at any Toshiba printer on campus
For complete setup instructions for both Windows and Mac, see our How To: Use Papercut's Mobility Print.
WebPrint (Papercut)
WebPrint is a web-based printing portal that works from any device with internet access. This is ideal when:
- You're using a device where you can't install software
- You need to print quickly without setup
- You're printing from a Chromebook, Linux, or mobile device
- No special requirements (Finishing, staples, custom paper, single-sided prints)
For detailed instructions, see our How To: Use Papercut's WebPrint.
Access WebPrint at: webprint.ithaca.edu
Printing at Library Quickprint Stations
The library features two large Toshiba multifunction printers (MFPs) with dedicated Quickprint stations located next to them. These computers offer the same printing options as other lab computers on campus:
- WebPrint (PaperCut) through webprint.ithaca.edu - For quick printing with no special requirements (finishing, staples, custom paper)
- Print Deploy Client (PaperCut) application pre-installed on IC computers. Allowing access to printers added to the Quickprint stations and lab computers - Allows more options in printing through the System Settings
Alert: These computers automatically erase all data after each reboot. For best printing results, download files from cloud services (Google Drive, Canvas, OneDrive, etc.) to the computer first rather than printing directly from your browser. After printing, delete any downloaded personal files before leaving the station - do not rely on the automatic cleanup
You can print from these stations using either:
- WebPrint - Upload your document through the web browser
- Print Deploy Client - Print directly from applications with access to all printing options, including:
Printing on Campus Computers
Campus computers in labs and offices have the Print Deploy Client pre-installed with access to ToshibaBW and ToshibaColor printers.
For Faculty and Staff
Faculty and staff using campus-issued computers should have printers already configured. If you need to set up or reconfigure Toshiba printers on your campus computer, see our How To: Setup Toshiba Printers guide.
Note: Faculty and staff receive unlimited printing at no charge and should use the Print Deploy Client for optimal printing features.

Once printers are configured:
- Open your document in any application
- Press Ctrl+P (Windows) or Cmd+P (Mac)
- Select ToshibaBW or ToshibaColor from the printer list
- Adjust any print settings as needed (see Options and Settings for advanced features)
- Click Print
- Release your print job at any Toshiba printer using your ID card
WebPrint (PaperCut)
WebPrint is a web-based printing solution that allows you to upload and print documents from any device with internet access. For complete step-by-step instructions, see our How To: Use Papercut's WebPrint.

Options and Settings
Single-Sided Printing
WebPrint only supports double-sided printing. For single-sided printing, you have two options:
- Use the Print Deploy Client on campus computers (including library Quickprint stations and lab computers)
- Use Mobility Print from your personal device
For detailed single-sided printing instructions, see our Library Printing FAQ.
Stapling Options
To staple your printed documents:
- Open your document in an application (not a web browser)
- Press Ctrl+P (Windows) or Cmd+P (Mac)
- Select ToshibaBW or ToshibaColor
- Click Preferences or Printer Properties
- Navigate to the Finishing tab
- Select your staple position from the stapling options
- Click OK and Print
Alert: Stapling is only available through the system print dialog in applications. Browser-based printing (WebPrint) does not support stapling.
Custom Paper Sizes and Special Paper
For standard paper sizes available in printer trays:
Most Toshiba printers on campus have multiple paper sizes pre-loaded:
- Letter (8.5" x 11") - available in all printers
- Legal (8.5" x 14") - available in most department locations
- Ledger/Tabloid (11" x 17") - available in library printers
Check the printer display or print dialog for available paper sizes before printing. Simply select the desired size in your print settings, and the printer will automatically use the correct tray.
For special paper types or unusual sizes:
Use the bypass tray when printing on:
- Special paper types (cardstock, photo paper, labels, transparencies)
- Unusual paper sizes are not available in the standard trays
- Any specialty media requiring different handling
To use the bypass tray:
- Select your desired paper size/type in the print settings
- At the printer, open the bypass tray (located on the right side)
- Load your special paper and adjust the guides to fit snugly
- Release your print job
- If prompted on the printer screen, select Bypass Tray as the paper source
For step-by-step instructions with non-standard paper, see our Library Printing FAQ.
Understanding Print Release
When you send a document to print using ToshibaBW or ToshibaColor:
- Your print job is sent to a secure holding queue (not a specific printer)
- Print jobs are held for up to 72 hours
- You can release your job from ANY Toshiba printer on campus
- To release: Tap your ID card or login at the printer, select Print Release, choose your job(s), and select Print
This system allows you to:
- Print from anywhere and pick up at your convenience
- Keep documents secure until you're at the printer
- Avoid waste from unclaimed prints
Alert: Your print jobs follow you! Send to print from any location and release at any Toshiba printer when convenient.
