IMPORTANT: If you want your Intercom post to appear in the next Roundup, it must be scheduled no later than 11:59 PM ET the day before the Roundup is delivered. Posts scheduled on the same day the Roundup is delivered will NOT appear in that day's Roundup. [Example: If you schedule your post on 9/24/24 for 9/24/24, it will NOT appear in the 9/24/24 Roundup.]
Here’s how to create and schedule an Intercom post:
- Log into the website if you aren't logged in already. How to Log Into Drupal
- Navigate to the Intercom home page.
- Tap the "Add Intercom Post" option at the top of the page.
This will open the editor interface where you can create your post.
Add a Title and select the ‘Intercom Topic’ [Max 3]
Add your content In the “Content” section. For a simple post that will show your ‘Title’ [above] and some text, just complete your post by adding text in the ‘Text’ box [required]. You can also add a subheading in the ‘Text Heading,’ but this is optional.
You can also add additional text blocks by selecting from this menu.
Once you’ve set up your post, you’ll need to schedule it. You have 3 options:
PLEASE NOTE: An article will now be published online on the same day it first appears in the roundup, making it easier for you to ensure timely and coordinated releases of your content.
- Option ‘Save as draft’ will save your post as a draft.
- Option ‘Automatically in the next issue’ means the article will appear in the roundup on the next Monday, Wednesday, or Friday after the date it's saved for scheduling, and will be published online on the same day.
- Option ‘Choose which issue(s) to include in’ will allow you to schedule your post to appear in multiple roundups. The article will be published online on the same day it first appears in the roundup and will remain published.
If you choose to schedule your post to appear in multiple roundups, just select the dates and remember to choose only Monday, Wednesday, or Friday.
Once you’ve selected your publish option, select 'Scheduled' from the 'Save as' menu [in most cases, 'Scheduled' will be your only option for a new post] then click ‘Save’ and your post will publish online and appear in the roundup as scheduled.
Rescheduling a Post that has Previously Published
If you’d like to reschedule or change the scheduling for a post that has already been published, simply ‘edit’ the post, edit your ‘publish options’ then select ‘Published and Scheduled’ from the 'Change to' menu and click ‘Save’.
Authoring Information [Warning]
Some users will be able to see “Authoring Information” in the right-hand column of the page. DO NOT CHANGE the date. Use the scheduling tool described above to schedule your post.
How to View Your Scheduled Content
An article will now be published online on the same day it first appears in the roundup, making it easier for you to ensure timely and coordinated releases of your content. So, it will not show on the main Intercom page until it's published. However, you can view your scheduled posts at any time. Please see our article on How to View or Edit Your Intercom Post.
