How To: Fax with Toshiba MFP

The Toshiba multifunction printers (MFPs) with a fax option let you send faxes directly from the device Home screen. This article explains how to open the Home screen, send a fax, and add the Fax button if it is missing.

Accessing the Device Home Screen

The PaperCut sign-in screen loads first. To reach the device's own Home screen (where Fax lives), open Copy and then press the physical Home button.

  1. Log in to the Toshiba MFP with your PaperCut account, or swipe your IC ID at the badge reader on the front of the device. At the PaperCut home screen, select Copy

  2. This opens the device Copy page. Press the physical Home button on the device

Sending a Fax

See Accessing the Device Home Screen for how to reach the Home screen of the Toshiba MFP.

  1. At the Home screen, select the Fax icon (an orange box with a white number pad and paper coming out of the top). If you do not see the Fax icon, see If Your Home Screen Is Missing the Fax Option first

  2. To enter the fax number, select the number pad button on the left side of the screen (the third option down, with a green icon)

  3. Enter the fax number:
    • On campus: dial 4 followed by the last 4 digits of the fax number (for example, 4XXXX)
    • Off campus: dial 91 followed by the full fax number (for example, 91607731XXXX)
  4. Select Send in the bottom right corner to send the fax. To test without sending, press Monitor instead of Send Fax screen showing the Send button and the G3 fax option

If Your Home Screen Is Missing the Fax Option

Follow the steps in Accessing the Device Home Screen to reach the Home page, then select the Gear icon in the top-right corner.

  1. In the Settings menu, select Button Contents

  3. Select the + where you want the Fax button (any location is fine). In the Add Button menu, select Register From Function List

  4. In the Register From Function List menu, scroll down and select Fax

  5. On the Edit screen, leave the defaults and select OK

The Fax option now appears on the device Home page.
