Adobe Firefly: Create Content with AI

Adobe Firefly is Adobe's generative AI tool for creative work. Firefly is available to Ithaca College faculty and staff who have an Adobe Creative Cloud license. Students who have been assigned an Adobe Creative Cloud license also have access to the full Adobe Firefly experience. 

In addition, Firefly-powered AI features are available through Adobe Express for all Ithaca College students, faculty, and staff.

This article is intended for IC faculty, staff, and students with an assigned Adobe Creative Cloud license, as well as Adobe Express users.

Web App, Desktop App (creative cloud) 

Getting Started

Those with an Ithaca College Adobe Creative Cloud license can access Adobe Firefly by logging in with their Ithaca College credentials. IT recommends installing the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application to manage Adobe applications and service.

Access via Web 

  1. Visit https://firefly.adobe.com in a web browser 
  2. Select Sign In 
  3. Enter your IC email address 
  4. If prompted, select Company or School Account 
  5. Enter your Ithaca College username and password 
  6. Begin creating with Adobe Firefly 

Access via Creative Cloud 

  1. Visit https://creativecloud.adobe.com 
  2. Sign in using your Ithaca College credentials 
  3. Select Apps from the left navigation 
  4. Install Creative Cloud Desktop if it is not already installed 
  5. Open the Creative Cloud desktop application 
  6. Launch Adobe Firefly services from your Adobe account 

iOS and Android 

  1. Visit the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) 
  2. Search for and Install the Adobe Firefly AI Video and Photo application 
  3. Sign in using your Ithaca College credentials 

Common Features

Generate Images from Text Prompts 

  • Describe the image you want to create using a text prompt and Firefly will generate image options based on your description. 

Edit Existing Images 

  • Use generative AI tools to remove or replace objects or image elements in photos, expand image backgrounds, or modify visual content. 

Generate Video Content 

  • Generate video content from text prompts and use AI-powered editing tools to enhance, extend video footage, or modify video projects. 

Create Marketing, Presentation, and Social Media Content 

  • Use Firefly-generated assets to create event promotions, social media graphics, marketing materials, and presentation visuals.
