This article is intended for any non-IC student that is taking a course in Canvas. The "student" could be an alumnus, retiree, professor emeritus, guest, or any non-IC enrolled student.

If you are planning to take a course, (whether you are paying for the course or auditing) as a faculty, staff, alumnus, retiree, or professor emeritus, and you are not enrolled as an IC student you will need to work with the Office of Extended Studies. They will provide you with guidance on how to register for a course. You will need to complete the process for the Registration Request along with providing the necessary paperwork to the Office of Extended Studies.

Alert: It can take the various IC departments, software systems, and services up to 72 hours (Monday-Friday) for all paperwork to be processed and for access and enrollment in Canvas to be completed. Please plan accordingly.
