Dell: Repair Cirrus Audio Driver

If your Dell Pro Plus 13 or Pro Plus 14 has lost audio or is no longer recognizing its audio device, a repair tool is available directly through Company Portal to resolve a known issue with the Cirrus Audio Driver missing.

Audience

This article is intended for students, faculty, and staff who are experiencing audio issues on a Dell Pro Plus 13 or Dell Pro Plus 14 laptop.

Platform

Microsoft Windows 11, Dell Pro Plus 13, Dell Pro Plus 14

Before You Begin

  • Only run this repair if you are experiencing audio issues or have been directed to by IT@IC staff.
  • This repair will only appear in the Company Portal on supported models (Dell Pro Plus 13 and Dell Pro Plus 14).

Running the Repair

  1. Open the Company Portal on your computer. If you are not sure how to find it, see Using the Company Portal Application on Ithaca College Windows Computers.
  2. In the Apps section, search for Cirrus Audio Driver - Repair.
  3. Click the app to open it, then click Install.
  4. The repair runs silently in the background - no progress window will appear.
  5. After a short wait, a Windows notification will prompt you to restart. Save any open work and restart the computer when you are ready.

After Restarting

Audio should be restored after your computer restarts. If you are still experiencing issues after completing the repair and restarting, please contact the IT Service Desk for further assistance.
