Troubleshooting Common Issues

Print Jobs Not Appearing

  • Check network connection: Ensure you're on "IthacaCollege" network or connected via VPN
  • Verify credentials: Make sure you're logged in with the same account used to send the print job
  • Wait a moment: Jobs may take 1-2 minutes to appear in the queue
  • Check job expiration: Print jobs expire after 72 hours
  • Correct printer selected: Ensure you sent to ToshibaBW or ToshibaColor, not a specific printer

Authentication Issues

  • ID card not working: Try manual login or register your card Article - How To: Register your IC ID...
  • Password rejected: Use only your username (no @ithaca.edu) and current IC password
  • Account locked: Contact the Service Desk if you've exceeded login attempts

Print Quality Issues

  • Faded prints: Report low toner to the monitor listed in the printer locations guide
  • Paper jams: Follow on-screen instructions or contact the printer monitor

Special Printing Needs

Printing on Special Paper (Bypass Tray)

To print on your own paper or special media:

  1. Load your paper into the bypass tray (usually on the side of the printer)
  2. Send your print job as normal
  3. The printer will automatically use the bypass tray for your job
  4. Remove any remaining special paper after printing

Double-Sided Printing

Double-sided (duplex) printing is enabled by default to save paper. To print single-sided:

  • Mobility Print users: Change settings in the print dialog under "Layout" or "Finishing"
  • WebPrint users: Double-sided only - consider using Mobility Print for more options
