How can I add an external, third-party tool, like VoiceThread, to my Canvas course?

Not all external tools can be added to the course navigation. Some tools are designed to be embedded in-line on a Canvas course Page and/or in a Module. Here are a few basic steps to adding an IC supported, external, third-party tool.

In a Module:
1. In your course, click on Modules in the course navigation
2. In the top bar of the module, click on the +
3. In the ADD drop-down, select External Tool
4. Scroll through the tools listed, they are in alphabetical order, and select the tool you would like to use.

To embed on a Page:
1. Open a course Page and click on Edit
2. In the Rich Content Editor (editing box) toolbar, select the plug icon
3. Select the tool you want to use

The team is working on additional documentation to help users understand how to access the various tools.
