What is this Service?
Request a NEW team
If you need a new team for a club, academic department, campus organization, or a specific project, please use this service to submit your creation request. Here's what you'll need to have ready to complete the form accurately:
-
Team Name: Provide the full, official name for your team (e.g., "History Department Faculty" or "Student Government Planning Committee"). This name will appear across all Microsoft 365 services, so make sure it is clear and descriptive.
-
Team Owners: You must designate the users who will manage the team. A minimum of two owners is strongly recommended to ensure administrative continuity.
-
Team Type: Choose one of the following options:
- Private: Only members can see content and join via invitation.
- Public: Anyone in the organization can search for the team in the team directory.
- Classroom: For classrooms that are not within the Canvas environment.
If you have additional details about the team's purpose, membership requirements, or initial questions, please use the comments section of the form.
Glossary

It is essentially a central hub for teamwork, bringing together workspace chat, video conferencing, file storage, and application integration in one place. It's designed to help teams communicate more effectively, work together on projects, and reduce reliance on email.
Key features include:
-
Persistent Chat and Channels: Organized conversations for different topics or projects.
-
Video and Audio Meetings: Virtual meetings with screen sharing, recording, and other collaborative features.
-
File Sharing and Collaboration: Real-time co-authoring of documents stored in the cloud (SharePoint/OneDrive).
-
Integration with other Microsoft 365 services (like Word, Excel, Outlook) and third-party apps.
